Allentown businessman moves operations to larger digs

During his grand opening event earlier this month, proprietor Joe Stoffey made sure to roll out the red carpet – more like temporary landscaping – for his 500 guests.

Stoffey, who owns Sunroom Pro’s Patio Room Specialists and Allentown Window Pro's, said his goal was to give people something to look at when they visited his new location at 1740 Lynnwood Road, Allentown.

“We wanted people to have a place for one-stop shopping, where they can visualize the room in their backyard,” he reported.

Stoffey has been on the fast track since last December when he purchased a former Mack Trucks building to expand his operations. The 6,000 square-foot location he formerly occupied was at 2231 Walbert Ave., Allentown. It housed Sunroom Pro’s, Allentown Window Pro's and Reliance Funding Corp., which Stoffey said he uses to offer customers financing on their purchases. The three businesses have moved to the new building.

“We used to have absolutely no showroom, and now we have outdoor and indoor showrooms,” said Stoffey, who hired a local artist to do artwork in the showrooms and purchased temporary landscaping for the grand opening event, held June 9 to June 11.

The showroom area currently consists of two showrooms and a kitchen, but Stoffey plans to add three outdoor sunrooms, two spas, two outdoor kitchens, a pool, a waterfall and a variety of outdoor patio furniture.

“If you like the furniture, and you like the setup, we are able to give you the complete package,” Stoffey said.

The owner said he received his mortgage broker’s license in 1996 and established the financing arm of the business. He anticipates being capable of offering $50 million in financing annually at the new location. He also expects sales of windows to increase to $10 million and sunroom sales to reach $8 million.
